It’s summer and Paris is waiting for me in the twilight. It’s time to pack a tiny suitcase, complete with a string of pearls and my passport. Why is Paris so magical? It might be the sparkling champagne and croque madame and roast chicken and lemon butter crepes. Or perhaps it’s the city’s iconic beauty: l’tour eiffel sparkling at midnight and the Luxembourg gardens in the falling dusk, the Parisians strolling hand in hand with wispy hair and thin bicycles.
Whatever it is, I’m dying to visit. I’d just adore a weekend trip with my watercolor set and a striped shirt and a lovely picnic of EC treats…….wild field greens salad with poached pears, gorgonzola terrine and toasted pine nuts, lavosh and sliced cheese, grilled chicken stuffed with spinach, brioche, and apricots, and a cupcake to finish it off. We’re busy here back at the office creating Marie Antoinette inspired menus and French delicacies; the fireworks of Bastille Day aren’t far off in the distance!
