15 of Our Fave Gluten-Free Catering Menu Picks

In an era that can feel so divided, we believe food is still the ultimate unifier. At EC, we want everyone to have a seat at our table. When crafting our menus, we take special care to include as many dishes as possible for our gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, nut-free friends. An entirely vegetarian wedding? Done. A Jain celebration? No prob! One area in which we’ve worked extra-hard is gluten-free catering. While we can make almost anything on our menus gluten-free now, we’d like to share some of our original favorites with you. Let’s break (GF) bread together.

Brunch

Or breakfast! Or breakfast-for-dinner. The time of day you most enjoy mimosas and maple syrup is no worry of ours. Luckily, all our fresh fruit juices are naturally GF—mango, grapefruit, orange, peach nectar and more—as is our fair trade coffee. Faves:

Gluten-Free Toast – avocado with watermelon radish and chili flakes; sunflower seed butter with bananas and strawberries; granola with chia seeds, honey and mint
Egg Bar – all-American scramble with cheddar, potatoes and bourbon-maple bacon; egg white frittata with mushrooms, red potatoes and mozzarella

Cold Lunch

Ok, not necessarily cold, but a casual lunch sans chaffers—everyone gets their own sandwich or salad and their own side. Easy peasy for offices, schools, all-day conferences and networking events. With gluten-free bread and croutons, we can make nearly all of our sandwiches and salads suitable options. Faves:

Vegan Rainbow Sandwich (on GF bread) – tomato, cucumber, portobello mushroom, avocado, shaved carrots, red cabbage, red pepper and a hummus spread
Farm-to-Table Salad (vegetarian) – assorted greens, cabbage, grilled corn, tomato, avocado, dates, goat cheese

Hot Lunch

Best served buffet-style. Even if your hot lunch order is drop-off-only, we’ll send a crew to set everything up for you, ensuring dishes arrive hot, stay warm and look cool. Hot lunch is perfect for big offices, family parties and casual, lo-fi weddings. Plus, you can easily incorporate one or two gluten-free dishes in your standard order to cater to anyone in the group who may want or need to abstain. Faves:

Airline Chicken with lemongrass coconut milk sauce – crispy bamboo rice and grilled baby bok choy
Roasted and caramelized Brussels sprouts – bacon

Dinner

Ding, ding, ding! We’re ringing the dinner bell, folks! We have gluten-free dishes for meat-lovers, pescatarians, vegetarians, vegans and nearly everyone in between. Never compromising on creativity – or taste. Faves:

Grilled Hanger Steak – guajillo sauce, arugula cilantro pesto, papas chorreadas, crispy Brussels sprouts
Roasted Halibut in Banana Leaf – lemon confit, butter sauce
Warm Leek Gratin – overnight tomatoes, grilled zucchini, shaved parmesan

Cocktail Hour Hors d’Oeuvres

Sure, cocktails are kind of the star of cocktail hour, but a few good food pairings are a must. One of our catering superpowers is our ability to turn almost any dish into a handheld bite. Faves:

Vietnamese Spring Rolls – mango and house-pickled chili peppers
Plantain Chip – black bean escabeche and cilantro crème fraîche

Dessert

Come on. We couldn’t leave you without a sweet treat or four! Moment of gratitude that, yes, chocolate is gluten-free. Faves:

Stuffed Strawberries – mascarpone mousse, hazelnut dust
Cheesecake Lollipops – dipped in chocolate
Chai-Spiced Creme Brûlée
Chocolate Pot de Creme – mocha whipped cream, chocolate-covered coffee beans
