From Root To Table
January tends be a busy month. Full of new obligations, new exciting projects and getting organized for the next 12 months. At least that’s what it is like around the Entertaining Company office! In previous blogs, we’ve talked about how this is the year for using food to elevate our lives and to do so in a more sustainable way. Therefore, we are loving the trend of “root to table”. Not wasting a single part of our fruits and vegetables. Seeds, skin, stems and all. Served over a bed of healthy grains or used to create a delicious warming stew. Perfect for this time of year.
Our Creative Culinary Director threw together this easy, one pot meal that is going to be a game changer this winter. Whether you’re hosting a super bowl party. Gathering your closest girlfriends. Inviting over the in-laws. Planning a rustic inspired event. And any other soiree you may be organizing. Cut and season your favorite vegetables. We chose heirloom carrots, brussel sprouts, onions, asparagus and green beans. Add in the broth you’ve made or purchased. Shawn Doolin also decided to add a layer of yellow rice to this dish for added flavors. While your concoction is heating, time to open a bottle wine. Shop our favorite pineapple wine opener here.
