Exploring San Francisco

Our Founder, Wendy Pashman, recently escaped the city for a week and took a trip to explore the beautiful streets of San Francisco, California. With family, Wendy searched out a few trendy restaurants, met some Cali locals and experienced the west coast in a new way. When Wendy travels, she skips over all the traditional “touristy” spots and seeks out the local, hidden gems for a more authentic experience. This time in San Francisco, she made it her mission to find one new favorite place that she’ll be visiting every time she’s goes back. A place that just gets her. The place this time happened to be a modern Greek inspired restaurant with an extremely inspiring menu.

Souvla has three locations throughout California and Wendy was thrilled to discover such a delicious little spot in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of  San Francisco. Known for their Greek fries, fluffy pita bread and housemade Greek sauces, this place is a must try. Wendy was especially excited by their roasted white sweet potato salad (picture below). Check out their Instagram here for more mouth water menu ideas.

Next up on Wendy’s top stops, Brenda’s French Soul Food. Looking for a fun and delicious breakfast spot? Look no further. Flaky homemade biscuits with fresh jam – must we say more! This restaurant  proved to be a great place for Wendy to start her morning with family and plan out their full day of exploring.

Lastly, Wendy found a fun and unique location for brunch. Not like anything you can find in the city. Foreign Cinema’s menu was a major delight. All the seafood is so fresh. The eggs are fluffy with great flavoring paired with seasonal veggies, roasted potatoes and of course, cheese! Served over toast, wrapped in a tortilla or prepared the way you like them. Their chefs can do just about anything. The coolest aspect of this spot is the giant screen showing movies from all decades. Dinner and a movie all in one – date night anyone?

When life gets stressful and a little overwhelming, stepping back from reality and immersing in a new lifestyle is sometimes all you need. Safe travels!
