Red Hot for Summer
Time to ditch the “Millennial Pink” and embrace the power of a great red accessory. Don’t get us wrong, we got slightly obsessed with the blushy pink color and how perfectly it went with all our favorite neutrals. Adding an even more vibrant pop of color to your wardrobe this summer is the new trend we are loving. Not only is red a great fashion statement color but it’s a sure way to dress up your table in the most effortless way. Whether you’re sipping on a fresh watermelon, pomegranate sangria, indulging into the sweet layers of red velvet cake or simply styling your tabletop with a silk red runner. It’s a color we’re all raving about. Shawn Doolin, our Culinary Directory has been experimenting with new RED HOT recipes that are a must at your next summer soiree!
What’s a summer party without fresh, fruity sangria? Our beverage manager, Tom Sierra, mixed up this watermelon, pomegranate sangria that has a gorgeous red color and even better flavor! Refreshing either on ice or frozen. We will definitely be sipping one of these all summer long.
Next item on our red summer menu are mini red velvet whoopie pies. We were extremely inspired by these fun, retro round sunglasses by Fendi worn in this year’s fashion show that showcased a line of their fabulous red leather boots. Kendel Jenner was decked out in a seventies vibe ensemble that embodied the vibrant red we are loving!
Layers aren’t only great in the Fall! Another food and fashion trend that is blowing up this summer is layers. As well as using food in layers as your table top decor. We created a spread of fresh red vegetables and fruits that really popped against this crisp white linen. This spread would also look great running down the center of a wooden farm or picnic table. Don’t be afraid to bring in variations of the color to add even more depth to those layers!
Color blocking is the next fashion trend our chef is getting inspired by this summer. It never looked so refreshing! White is always a nice accent color but the vibrant red continues to steal the show. We stacked feta on top of fresh watermelon making a bite size taste of summer.
Last on this summer’s red hot menu is a mock-tail for all the kiddos invited to your party! While the adults drink that delicious sangria you mixed up, give the children something fun to sip on as well. Pictured is one of our favorite mock-tails. Muddled raspberries and a splash of grenadine gives this drink the amazing red color. Add some sparkling water and a sprig of rosemary for the finishing touches. Making sure everyone feels including at your event never goes out of style. Happy Summer!
