DKC’s Launch Party with Prohibition Flare
Collaborating with a corporate client who knows how to throw a launch party is so creatively rewarding! Entertaining Company did just that with the Chicago opening of New York based DKC Public Relations and Marketing firm.
The party was tailored to highlight it’s Chicago location in the historic 35 E. Wacker Jeweler’s Building. The building has its own storied past having been completed in 1927 at the height of Prohibition.
During that time, Chicago became a cocktail centric center with outlaw bootleggers as well as speakeasies. A launch party with Chicago cocktail flavors and touches of New York seemed perfect for the introduction of the new office.
EC presented two specialty welcome drinks~ The “DKC Bubbles” which was our take on a French 75, combining champagne and cognac in a retro coupe glass. Jack (Daniels) and Ginger from a double old fashion packed a punch served from waiter trays as well as on the “Prohibition” Bar.
Substantial passed “dinner” hors d’oeuvres were a bit of New York (small 3” kosher hot dogs) as well as Chicago Taylor Street (Burrata Pata with Truffle, Fresh Basil Pesto on Garlic Crostini).
Waiters and bartenders wore period hats, arm bands and uniforms to enhance the theme. The client provided branded coasters and bar signage to keep guests informed.
We loved working with this client on the particularly Chicago flavor, and ability to use brands and branding to enhance the theme. Welcome to Chicago, DKC.
