Employee Spotlight: Jane Mensing
In 2019, EC is going rogue. We’re all about experimentation—experiential catering, baby! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome to the team our new Innovative Concepts and Sales Consultant Jane Mensing! A Los Angeles native, Jane bought a one way ticket to Chicago over a decade ago and never looked back—from palm to pine trees, she’s made the midwest her home. She brought with her a love for the outdoors and an impressive education from Le Cordon Bleu. Jane’s 15 years of experience in the industry speak to her passion for food and hospitality.
When she’s not creating incredible experience and lifelong memories for people, Jane likes to tackle fresh culinary challenges. We tackled a Vietnamese coffee cake together on her second day on the job! And? She knocked it out of the park. Verified kitchen rockstar. In her free time, she’s cuddling her cat, checking out the coolest fests in town, and backpacking and camping with her husband.
We asked Jane a couple of questions to get to know her better. Here’s what she had to say.
Your last job was in the restaurant biz. What do you think the biggest changes will be with your new role at EC?
I’ll have unlimited creative resources available. Each event can be tailored to whatever anyone can think of. No limitations except for the imagination.
Who (real, fictional, dead, alive) gets an invite to your dream dinner party?
Theodore Roosevelt, Arya Stark, Winnie the Pooh, my husband Andy, my cats, and THE Alex Trebek.
Favorite cuisine / Favorite food combo?
It’s a toss-up between Mexican and Vietnamese. Vietnamexican?
Favorite place you’ve traveled?
Yellowstone national park. America is beautiful.
What are you most looking forward to in your new job?
Working with such a talented and positive group of people! Everyday is a chance to learn something new.
