Goodbye Summer
Anyone else wishing summer was the long season and winter only lasted about three months? Us too! There are far too many rooftop restaurants to check out, street festivals to explore and outdoor events and weddings to be hosted. Chicago truly comes to life in the summer. The thing that does excite us about the cooler months and saying goodbye to summer are the holidays. Starting in November and continuing into the new year. There are a lot of opportunities to throw amazing parties. The only thing warmer than a hot summer day is celebrating holidays with the ones you love. One of our favorite winter additions to incorporate into our seasonal menu is bringing the ice indoors. Serving a course in mini ice cups or showcases a raw bar on a custom ice block. All holiday menus are not complete without dessert. Holiday sugar cookies are a must. Warm mini donuts rolled in cinnamon and sugar pair perfectly with hot chocolate sips. Let’s talk about the main course because we all know people show up to the holiday parties mostly for the warm food that has them all leaving full and ready for a nap! Potatoes in every style are a must. Roasted seasonal vegetables to balance the meal. And sliced meat drizzled with our housemade sauce. Served buffet style so your guests can eat as they want or a more formal plated dinner. Either way, no one is leaving hungry.
During the summer our Beverage Manager loves getting creative with new and refreshing cocktails. Combining unique flavors that always seem to work. And the holiday season is no different. Instead of thinking cool, vibrant and fresh he switches things up with a more smokey and warm approach. Pictured is our Fall Sangria that serves throughout the winter months. Sliced apples and cranberries are our fruit of choice for this drink. Mix it up with a warm mulled wine or your favorite white wine as the base. Garnish with a cinnamon stick for the extra warm weather spice.
