Gift Ideas for Wedding Registries

Do you ever wonder what friends and family are paying for the average gift this wedding season? What is the etiquette these days? It all depends on how well you know the bride and groom, of course and where you live.

Survey findings from RetailMeNot show that this season’s wedding guests plan to spend $195 on a sibling’s wedding gift, $159 on a best friend, $63 on a coworker and $45 on an acquaintance. The Knot polled over 15,000 brides and found that close friends or relatives are giving $150.00 this season with “urbanites” giving slightly higher at $150.00 and over.

Unlike in years past, according to The Knot, today’s couples are requesting modern twists on traditional wedding gifts even though these gifts still revolve around the kitchen, dining, and bath departments. In terms of entertaining, according to The Knot,  everyday affairs are big for brides, so consider giving items that can multitask from everyday dinner to entertaining friends in a special way.

We’re noticing that brides tend to register at multiple stores. Perhaps the big box stores for basics like toasters and everyday dishes and registries like The Storied Table for artisanal kitchen and décor accessories.

Here’s what’s trending at The Storied Table this wedding season in budget categories suggested by the research!
