Rustic Urban Style Wedding #monthoflove

This week during the #MonthOfLove ,  Misha Newgren with Liven it Up Events  and Julie Fitzgerald with Entertaining Company team put their thoughts together on how to create a Rustic Urban Style Wedding.  You might ask, what is the definition of a Rustic Urban wedding?

The rustic urban style finds beauty in nature with sustainable natural simple elements enhancing for a modern “look”.  Rich colors, warm tones, contrasting textures highlight the elegance of raw space and refined beauty of modern architecture.

In order to create this wedding, let’s talk about how to build this rustic wedding from the ground up!

Color Palette

Rich colors, Warm tones contrasting textures – exposed brick, patina(d) metal contrasting textures to highlight the elegance of raw space and refined natural beauty of modern architecture.  The color palette for this style includes chocolate brown, ivory, merlot, sage green, dusty rose, eggplant or plum.

Dress the Table

Rectangular tables work best for this style of wedding.  Chairs that work – Fruitwood or Natural Folding, Farm chair, benches, suede ottoman, custom color Chiavari Table lines in lamour or pintuck with hemstitch napkins. Mismatched silver flatware, glassware and china are fun for this style of wedding.

Floral and Decor

Contrasting structural crystal pieces(in contrast to soft fluid pieces as we see in” Vintage Romantic Style”) and textural vessels, candles of varying heights and sizes, ceiling suspended lanterns and light fixtures, farm tables with no linen and re-purposed vessels holding succulents contrasted with colorful flowers are fantastic.   Natural light by day followed by warm, ambient light or textured patterns washing walls and floors by night is a highlight.  The eclectic combination of crystal chandeliers and candelabras and driftwood with chalkboard menus and DIY favors will set the tone.
