The space was designated as a local landmark in 2004 and is in close proximity to the Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District. Fun fact: the architect of the Cheney Mansion, Charles E. White, studied with Frank Lloyd Wright and was heavily influenced by his style, particularly the idea that a structure should blend with its natural surroundings (you’ll see this feature in some of the detailing of the home).
