Fittingly, the National Hellenic Museum is located in the heart of Greektown, a cultural neighborhood just west of the Chicago Loop, and is the second oldest American institution established to celebrate the history of Greece, Greek traditions and the Greek-American experience. With over 17,000 artifacts, including pagan statues and Byzantine artwork, the setting is one-of-a-kind. The building itself is constructed with limestone and glass, with design elements meant to invoke the spirit of Aristotle. Surrounded by such regal artifacts, guests of all heritages can appreciate the special, historical aura in the museum. The Hellenic contains three spaces available for rental: the (outdoor and uncovered) open-air rooftop terrace, a special events hall and a great hall (the biggest area). On the terrace, host a cocktail hour for your colleagues or employees, and stage an intimate upscale dinner party in the events hall. The museum is also a romantic backdrop for weddings (both Greek and not-so-Greek!). Couples and their guests can enjoy the cityscape views from the terrace before migrating to the great hall for drinks and dancing.
