Lyric Opera

One of Chicago’s most prolific landmarks, the Lyric Opera is a world-class concert venue—the main theatre is the second largest opera auditorium in the country. The original structure was completed in the 1920s and restored in 1996. It’s retained much of the original art deco architecture and intricate building design, lending the space an impossibly grand, luxe look. Most of the spaces have glamorous hanging chandeliers glowing with ambient room lighting, and the main staircases are begging to be opulent photo backdrops. The theatre itself can house over 3,500 guests, making it ideal for galas and large cocktail receptions. The drama of the soaring ceilings and classic opera balconies makes for an impressive wedding backdrop, too. The Florian Opera Bistro is ornamented with operatic costumes and show photographs—a one-of-a-kind sit-down setting. The foyer and the private rooms are perfect for wedding, dinners and other special occasions.
