The Women’s Club of Evanston is a traditional community women’s club located in historic downtown Evanston. The Clubhouse, built in 1912, has an elegant yet personal appeal. Outside is a stately ivy-covered facade. Inside is an opulent marble staircase, crystal chandeliers, hardwood floors and antique furniture. The two-story ballroom is perfect for dinner and dancing—the wraparound balconies give the mezzanine the look of a classic theatre. As the biggest space in the Clubhouse, the ballroom is the perfect backdrop for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. Attached to the ballroom is a bright, beautiful sun porch, an enclosed terrace of sorts perfect for a bridal suite or small cocktail reception. The ballroom also features a formal stage, a pull-down screen, a projector and all the AV equipment needed to host a conference, panel or performance. While the Women’s Club of Evanston isn’t exactly within Chicago city limits, it’s conveniently located near Northwestern University, the CTA and the Metra and the greater Northshore area. Plus, it’s just two blocks away from spectacular Lake Michigan views—photo opp! Some venue photos above by WojoImage Photography.
