Fall Tabletop Inspirations and Trends

We are so sorry to see the warm summer months slowly wind down, but excited for Fall and all of the new exciting trends. Recently, we attended NY Now, a wholesale products and innovative designs trade show, and came back to Chicago with brand new ideas and inspiration.  Some of our favorite Fall fashion trends in color, texture, and sustainability are now being incorporated in luxury tabletop décor with great embellishments. We couldn’t be more thrilled.

Sustainability

While at NY Now we stumbled upon a fantastic company from Japan, Wasara, that brings an elegant sustainable twist to disposable tableware. We were blown away by the innovation, sophistication, shape and style of these products. Our sister company, Entertaining Company is currently experimenting with Simple Style menu options that look fantastic in these updated and designed tabletop pieces. Sometimes clients need a bit of “something extra” to bring their in office events to another level and we think we’ve found just the thing! We hope to offer these as an upgraded option to our Simple Style clients as the weather cools.   One of the marvelous disposable bowls was even similar to our pinch pots, Devi and Lilith who we also ran into at the show.

Another sustainable Fall trend we are currently obsessed with is upcycling. We were in love with vintage hand rust dyed tabletop linens which add a very bold yet earthy statement to a tabletop. Pictured is a table setting with textiles by Samanatha Verrone , who uses only local New York artisans for her products. Closer to our home, here is a shot from a wedding we were recently part of that incorporated dyed table runners that the bride handmade.

We have been layering fabrics and colors in our Fall outfits for years and now seeing this as a way of adding depth to our tabletop décor is stunning.   Seeing these tabletop displays in New York made us feel right at home, and we could easily envision our families gathered around the table for the holidays; in style.

Blues

At The Storied Table, we’re into the blues, always have been and going strong for 2017! From deep indigo to the Denim Drift Dulux Color of the Year for 2017, blues express all our many moods from hot to cool.  Here are some of our favorite The Storied Table indigo products which we are excited about expanding upon in 2017.

Matte Metals

Metal is trending and make it matte! Banish the shin!  Add some geometry to add to the trend or go for a more traditional old/new look. We are excited about continuing this matte metal trend at The Storied Table.
