When the Sossego Brazilian Showroom opened at the Chicago Merchandise Mart, celebrating the Brazilian lifestyle of warm, relaxed, and welcome comfort was on the menu. Sossego is the exclusive distributor of Aristeu Pires’ modern Brazilian designs in the U.S. Designers, architects and other trade professionals were invited to explore the new Sossego showroom at the Merchandise Mart featuring the handcrafted, award-winning furniture of renowned Brazilian designer Aristeu Pires.
For the launch, EC Consultant Kenny Woodman presented authentic Brazilian foods such as Feijoada with Spicy Sausage, Roast Carnitas, and Acaraje, a black eye pea fritter filled with shrimp and spicy peppers with lemon chili aioli. Here’s what the client had to say “We at Sossego are purveyors of modern Brazilian design. So when we entertain, we go all-out, all-Brazil: cocktails, music and hors d’oeuvres. We recently hosted grand-opening launch events for our new US flagship showroom and chose the Entertaining Company in Chicago as our caterer. Kenny and staff were brave and adventurous. They put together a menu with genuine Brazilian tastes and flavors. Many VIP guests traveled from Brazil and agreed the signature cocktail that the Entertaining Company created, along with the flavorful bites of pão de quijo, feijoada, acarajé, empanadita and moqueca de camarão were spot-on and true to the original flavors of South America. (You could have closed your eyes and been in South America.) Would we hire them again and recommend to others? Yes indeed. Obrigado!”
