This week warm weather officially kicks off with the 6th annual Chicago Craft Beer Week, which all starts at Garfield Park Conservatory for the Beer Under Glass (BUG) event. This event supports Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. We couldn’t be happier~ Definitely fans! Here’s a description straight from the event organizers, themselves:
With the restoration of the Conservatory’s glass roofs now complete, brewers will once again be located both inside the historic show houses and within the outdoor gardens of the Conservatory campus. Event attendees will be able to experience hand crafted beers while enjoying the beautiful display houses and the external grounds of the Conservatory. Guests will enjoy food samplings from 15 local restaurants and more than 75 breweries are expected to pour at this year’s BUG! This is a rain or shine event, so come prepared.
There are even more events happening all over the city, exploring new breweries, new brewers, and new brews! Boy, doesn’t that just make you thirsty. You can find the entire schedule here –> #CCBW Schedule and the entire map here –> #CCBW Map. You’ll find Tap Takeovers at some of your favorite bars, beer releases like that of the elusive Bourbon County Stout Tapping Party with Goose Island at State and Lake Chicago Tavern. Chicago Craft Beer Week is truly an event unlike any other, and don’t worry, they don’t skimp on the food either! Many local hot spots are offering special prix fixe menus and all-inclusive beer dinners with pairings for every course! Chicago’s own Glazed and Infused is serving up a one-of-a-kind beer doughnut to celebrate. Experience this IPD (India Pale Doughnut) for a limited time only.
Warm Weather, Craft Beer and Good Food!!! Hope to see everyone out there this week~here’s a few snaps from our visits around the city’s taps!
